On February 10th, the editorial department of "China Laundry" contacted dozens of laundry shops of different sizes nationwide to conduct an online survey on the overall resumption of work in laundry shops. 80% of the survey subjects are distributed in East China regions such as Shanghai, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Jiangxi, while 20% are located in other areas. Here we share the survey results and observations for industry colleagues' reference.
Survey data shows that over 90% of laundry shops had not resumed work as of February 10, 2020. The main reasons for not resuming work are based on the following considerations:

The few enterprises that resumed work mainly did so based on policy requirements or to prepare for future development, conducting comprehensive disinfection and strictly controlling store hygiene during operations to prevent cross-infection. They also clearly stated that business has significantly decreased compared to the same period in previous years.
Regarding the current status of waiting to resume work, 85% of respondents expressed concerns about cash flow, including the uncertainty of the laundry shops' survival after cash flow breaks, and practical issues such as how to pay rent and employee salaries. More than 65% expressed anxiety about the development of the epidemic and hoped to return to normal operations as soon as possible.
On the topic of when to resume work, over 70% of laundry shops hope to resume only after receiving clear government instructions, while 20% feel confused about the organization and timing of resumption, answering that it depends on the actual situation.
Regarding the question "In the long run, what insights do you think this epidemic has brought to your laundry business?", the answers were relatively concentrated.

During the survey, we also noticed that more than half of the laundry operators, besides paying attention to the epidemic's development, are very focused on their own learning and accumulation, hoping to quickly get their laundry business back on track after the epidemic through improving their own capabilities.
It should be noted that due to the limited survey time, it was not possible to collect a large number of samples in a short period to fully represent the entire industry situation. The existing survey data only partially represents the current trends and status.
For the laundry industry, this period should be the traditional peak season for washing, but this major epidemic has undoubtedly caused huge losses to the industry. We have previously analyzed the operational difficulties and breakthrough suggestions for laundry shops during the epidemic, and here we continue to share with everyone.
