Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic at the end of 2019, the nationwide fight against the virus has become the sole theme of the 2020 Spring Festival. Recently, Chen Fengchao, Sales Manager of Shanghai Hangxing Machinery (Group) Co., Ltd.'s Wuhan office, sent us updates from the frontline of epidemic prevention. Let's pay attention together.

At the main battle hospitals for COVID-19 patient treatment in Wuhan, including Jinyintan Hospital (Wuhan Infectious Disease Hospital), Xiehe Hospital, Tongji Hospital, Zhongnan Hospital, and People's Hospital, various models of Hangxing washing equipment have been put into use in hospital laundries. Tongji Hospital's laundry uses a full set of Hangxing washing equipment, including 3 isolation washer-extractors, 21 conventional washer-extractors, 18 dryers, 6 ironing machines, 2 folding machines, and 30 ironing tables. To fully ensure the safe and normal operation of Hangxing washing equipment under the overload conditions at the epidemic's epicenter, staff from Hangxing's Wuhan office not only maintain 24-hour on-call service but also personally participate in on-site disinfection of laundry equipment at Jinyintan and Tongji hospitals, risking infection.
So far, Hangxing's Wuhan office has also provided technical guidance and support via phone, WeChat, and video calls to the laundry of Jinyintan Hospital and the Tuoren Jinjie Medical Service Company in Jingmen City, Hubei Province, successfully troubleshooting equipment faults and restoring normal operation. They have also given detailed introductions and communications via WeChat to customers inquiring about equipment purchases, successfully reaching preliminary cooperation intentions.
It is understood that before the outbreak, Hangxing's washing equipment accounted for about 25% of the medical laundry market in Wuhan. With the large-scale outbreak of the epidemic, major hospitals have placed greater emphasis on infection control and logistics support. Whether hospitals build their own laundries or use socialized medical laundry institutions, they have set higher standards and requirements for using professional medical washing equipment to provide safe and high-quality medical textiles.

In fact, as early as 2016, the WS/T508 "Technical Specifications for Washing and Disinfection of Hospital Medical Textiles" clearly stipulated in section 4.4:
1. Medical textile washing, disinfection, drying, ironing supplies and equipment should meet work requirements.
2. The hygiene quality of washing water should comply with GB5749 requirements.
3. Washing and drying equipment should be selected from nationally tested and qualified specialized washing and drying equipment with heating functions.
4. Hygienic isolation-type washing and drying equipment is recommended.
5. Socialized washing service institutions are recommended to equip tunnel-type washing machines.
6. Detergents, disinfectants, and disinfecting instruments should comply with relevant national regulations.
Isolation washing equipment loads textiles into the washing machine from the door on the non-clean side and unloads them from the door on the clean side after washing. This not only effectively avoids secondary contamination caused by traditional washing (loading and unloading textiles from the same door) but also features excellent washing cleanliness and low residual moisture after extraction. It can solve the biggest pain points for medical textile washing users and provides the most effective solution currently available. It is also suitable for textile washing in other industries requiring clean/dust-free environments.

Manager Chen introduced that Hangxing's isolation washing equipment, custom-made according to WS/T508 "Technical Specifications for Washing and Disinfection of Hospital Medical Textiles," features a unique single-chamber design that cleans better than compartmentalized or multi-chamber washing machines.
