At the moment the alarm for the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic sounded, Shanghai immediately initiated a Level 1 public health emergency response. In this mega city, the most "hardcore" "immune system" in history was quickly activated.
Currently, it is a critical stage to block the spread of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic. Medical staff are on duty around the clock, reporting the epidemic to the public as quickly as possible; Shanghai's supply companies are working at full capacity to fully guarantee the supply needed by medical and health institutions and the public; scientific research teams are working overtime to screen drugs and develop vaccines; government departments are leading comprehensive disinfection of public places, canceling large-scale public events, publicly sharing epidemic prevention progress in real time, and the strict implementation of various prevention and control measures along with transparent information and data reassure the public...
Our Shanghai is both hardcore and warm.
Shanghai's laundry and dyeing workers are no less impressive.
Blocking the pneumonia epidemic Jingxi Medical Textile in action
Shanghai Jingxi Medical Textile, as a logistics service company for more than 70 medical and health institutions in Shanghai, serves tertiary hospitals accounting for over 50% of the city’s total. It has provided medical fabric management services to various hospitals year-round for nearly 20 years. In this epidemic prevention and control battle, Shanghai Jingxi responded proactively to the national government’s call, providing washing and disinfection services daily for over 40,000 medical staff, more than 30,000 beds, and over 1,500 surgeries. They regard epidemic prevention and sustainable service supply as the most important current work, cooperating with the government and relevant departments to strictly enforce joint prevention and control and responsibility implementation, striving to make all prevention measures stricter, deeper, more detailed, and more practical, fighting this tough battle together with the people of the whole country!

Jingxi Medical Textile emergency team implements a senior management responsibility system, comprehensively controlling all areas and links including hospital sites, transportation logistics, production workshops, infection prevention and control, rental warehouses, textile supply, and administrative personnel to ensure sustainable, safe, and hygienic services, supporting the epidemic prevention and control work.
The emergency leadership team is led by Chairman Zheng Yongxiang as team leader, with Executive Deputy General Manager Zheng Shichao as deputy leader; they act as each other's backup. Senior managers of each department are the primary responsible persons for their departments, supervised and inspected by the team leader, and also mutually supervise each other to ensure communication efficiency, timely emergency response, and rapid problem resolution.
Key leaders and backbone staff deployed to the front line, initiating Level 1 emergency response

During the epidemic prevention period (including all holidays), members of Jingxi Medical Textile’s emergency leadership team stayed in Shanghai, initiating the company’s Level 1 emergency response plan, providing 24-hour emergency response to government, hospitals, and relevant departments’ calls, strengthening frontline deployment, personally supervising and inspecting work, coordinating personnel, materials, transportation, and related facilities and equipment, fully participating in emergency response work.
The emergency leadership team leader, Chairman Zheng Yongxiang, inspected the production front line multiple times during the Spring Festival holiday, while comforting employees, checking production processes and product quality, environmental disinfection, infectious fabric handling and handover, employee health status, and rework reporting information one by one; the deputy leader, Executive Deputy General Manager Zheng Shichao, personally supervised and monitored every step of the service process, guiding departmental coordination through face-to-face, phone, and WeChat communication to ensure smooth reporting channels.
Work process review and planning, strictly preventing infection without any leaks

Above: Further strengthening production quality rechecks and secondary contamination prevention in clean areas
Given the severity and particularity of this epidemic, Jingxi Medical Textile conducted a comprehensive review of the entire service process and each operational link, summarizing advantages and disadvantages to ensure the quality of washing and disinfection of more than 150,000 pieces of fabric processed daily. Based on the German Hohenstein Institute's "RAL-GZ 992/2 Medical Textile Care Quality" standard, the rigor, scientific nature, rationality, and completeness of the workflow were further optimized. Strict control was applied to 13 microbial control points during washing and disinfection, water quality indicators, and post-wash care effects. Especially for infectious fabric operations, including collection, handover, transport, and washing and disinfection disposal, responsibilities and duties were clarified, handover precautions, washing and disinfection technical specifications, and visual management requirements were established. Additionally, disinfection control was performed at least twice (wet heat and chemical disinfection during washing, dry heat disinfection during drying) to meet medical textile washing and disinfection requirements, effectively preventing any infection leakage.
Enhanced infection prevention training, leaving no gap in hygiene protection

Infection prevention has always been one of Jingxi Medical Textile’s routine tasks and is a key focus in this epidemic prevention battle. Jingxi Medical Textile formulated a series of infection control systems and implemented and strengthened related training based on the "Technical Specifications for Disinfection of Hospital Medical Textiles" (WS/T 508), "Technical Specifications for Disinfection of Medical Institutions" (WS/T 367), "Hand Hygiene Specifications for Medical Staff" (WS/T 313), and other documents, combined with the characteristics of its washing and disinfection services. Training includes: ① Strengthening supervision of disinfection work in key departments and areas; ② Enhancing staff personal protection awareness; ③ Increasing infection prevention and control training, especially on mask wearing and hand hygiene operations; ④ Strengthening third-party hygiene testing and evaluation; ⑤ Accurately mastering disinfectant concentration, methods, and preparation.
Emergency fabric inventory allocation, ensuring frontline has no worries

Jingxi Medical Textile has a complete medical fabric service supply chain, combining textile technology and supply chain management technology, giving it a significant advantage in the medical fabric rental business. Its role has been further highlighted in the current epidemic prevention and control work, with a sizable textile warehouse and rental item warehouse, sufficient stock of medical fabrics available for the urgent supply and emergency use by frontline hospital staff at this stage, while also ensuring the needs of the frontline staff of the unit.
According to incomplete statistics, to prepare for the frontline epidemic needs, in just one week, Jingxi Medical Textile urgently allocated more than 3,000 sets of ward bedding, over 300 sets of uniforms, and more than 400 surgical dressings. There are still abundant stocks of over 34,400 bedding items, 20,000 uniforms, 8,000 surgical gowns, and 13,000 surgical dressings ready to respond to hospital demands at any time. This is the source of our confidence in ensuring sufficient fabric supply and no worries for the frontline.
In the face of the epidemic we do not retreat
Although Jingxi people are not doctors or nurses fighting on the front lines of the epidemic, they are escorting these frontline warriors, doing everything possible to provide them with logistical support. At the most critical moment of fighting the epidemic, Jingxi people are also our pride!
The Spring Festival of 2020 was uneasy and difficult, but it was also a festival of unity. When we seemed to have become accustomed to those huge and abstract numbers, this public event involving the whole nation suddenly pulled us all in, and now we know that every individual is so important.
Let us comfort this temporarily uneasy Spring Festival together and look forward to the victory we will achieve together soon!
