To address the long-standing issues in the laundry and dyeing industry and enable its healthy and orderly development, Gong Yan, a member of the Chaoyang Seventh Branch of the China Democratic League and a member of the China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association, led a seminar at the Office of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce on the theme "Promoting the Healthy Development of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry and Formulating Industry Standards." Chu Yumei, full-time deputy chairman of the Municipal Committee of the China Democratic League, Liu Zihua, deputy chairman of the Chaoyang District Committee of the China Democratic League, Pan Wei, executive deputy director and secretary-general of the Laundry Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, and others attended the meeting.
During the discussion, Pan Wei introduced that current national standards do not prohibit laundry shops from using chemical raw materials, and there is a lack of standardized regulation on the laundry quality of these shops. Many companies, to save costs, use detergents formulated with chemical raw materials or even strong acids or alkalis as detergents, resulting in clothes with excessive alkalinity after washing, which can even burn the skin. Participants expressed their views on the development status of the laundry and dyeing industry and the direction of political participation work, offering many valuable and reasonable suggestions.
After the meeting, the research team visited the Riguang Fine Group located in Daxing District. Beijing Riguang Fine (Group) Company is a specialized company focusing on cosmetics, detergents, daily chemical raw materials, fragrances, OEM processing, cleaning and maintenance, and related skills training. Guo Jidong, chairman of Riguang Fine Group, expressed great concern about the current problems in the laundry and dyeing industry and hoped that democratic parties would pay close attention to the regulatory issues of the industry, provide feedback to relevant departments in the form of proposals, and call for the prompt introduction of relevant industry standards.
The research team also visited the laundry workshop of Riguang Group to understand its operational processes.
