On August 26, Shahekou District organized a special work meeting to establish a special task force composed of various subdistricts and functional departments such as the Commerce Bureau, Market Supervision Administration, Health Bureau, and Environmental Protection Sub-bureau. The task force is conducting a "carpet-style" inspection throughout the district to crack down on unlicensed black laundry shops, regulate laundry business operations according to relevant regulations, improve service quality, protect consumers' legitimate rights and interests, and guide the healthy development of the laundry industry.
Currently, nine subdistricts in the district have each established joint inspection teams. Together with law enforcement personnel from the Market Supervision Administration, Environmental Protection Sub-bureau, and Health Bureau, they are conducting household-by-household inspections of laundry businesses and related hotels within their jurisdictions.
This special operation has mobilized more than 90 inspectors district-wide. Since the afternoon of the 26th, over 60 laundry businesses have been inspected. The inspection found that most laundry shops in Shahekou District mainly clean small clothing items and household textiles. No cases were found of laundry businesses mixing detergents with strong acids or alkalis on their own. However, some shops still need to improve service standards, such as failing to display complaint phone numbers or having irregular registration procedures when accepting clothes. During surprise inspections, six small laundry workshops hidden in residential areas were discovered operating without licenses. These have been ordered by law enforcement to cease operations and rectify within a specified time.
Next, Shahekou District will gradually establish and improve a long-term regulatory mechanism for the laundry industry. A joint supervision and inspection leadership group will be formed, consisting of the Market Supervision Administration, Environmental Protection Sub-bureau, Health Bureau, Commerce Bureau, and various subdistricts to conduct joint supervision. Regular inspections combined with surprise checks will be implemented to strengthen enforcement. A complaint reporting mechanism will be established, with consumer complaint phone numbers publicly displayed to promptly mediate disputes between buyers and sellers and protect consumers' legitimate rights. Laundry enterprises that receive administrative penalties will be publicly disclosed in conjunction with the construction of the enterprise credit system.
