Under the cooperation between the Laundry and Dyeing Committee and the Vocational Skills Appraisal Guidance Center of the China General Chamber of Commerce, since the "Leather Care Worker" was included in the National Occupational Classification in 2009, the "National Occupational Standard for Leather Care Workers" compiled by the Laundry and Dyeing Committee has been issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. In 2011, "Leather Care Worker" was approved as a unique occupation, with the China General Chamber of Commerce Vocational Skills Appraisal Center exclusively responsible for the assessment work. According to the 2013 letter No. 2103 [52] from the Human Resources and Social Security Department, approval was given to establish two unique occupational skill appraisal stations for Leather Care Workers in Beijing and Shanghai. Currently, the assessment and appraisal work for Leather Care Workers nationwide is uniformly coordinated by the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, with the two appraisal stations cooperating with the Chamber of Commerce Appraisal Center to complete related tasks. Any assessment and appraisal work regarding the national occupational qualification of Leather Care Workers organized by institutions not coordinated or recognized by the Laundry and Dyeing Committee is considered illegal.
