2019-05-23 15:17
Source:
Supported by the Professional Textile Care Association (PTC)
Ensure your laundry business meets customer expectations by implementing standard operating procedures
Main benefits:
1. Implement international best practices within PTC;
CERCLEAN® provides laundry managers in the laundry service industry with a fully stepwise model to implement best practices in professional laundry and dry cleaning. The program is divided into the Industrial Textile Service Certification Program and the Retail Textile Cleaning Certification Program, thus specializing in applicable business models. The manuals and easy-to-fill forms in the program cover optimized workflows and conditions, annual staff training, setting annual quality goals, handling hazardous chemicals, proper machine maintenance, good housekeeping, complaint management, productivity improvement plans, and energy-saving plans.
2. Proven solutions and continuous development;
Over 50 years ago, industrial laundries began collaborating with European healthcare organizations and government agencies to develop certification programs based on ISO 9001 and RABC standards (EN 14065) from a global perspective. CINET is committed to disseminating knowledge in this area through best practices and continuously improving the technical aspects of the program based on new industry innovations.
3. The most cost-effective solution;
Laundry managers can work anytime and anywhere because this is a digital self-explanatory program designed specifically for PTC. Users receive online support from licensed CERCLEAN® auditors. After applying for the program, laundry managers start creating a manual containing standard procedures for their specific laundry and customers, supported by e-learning in quality and (optional) hygiene management. This saves much more time than purchasing a generic quality management program not specialized for PTC. Additionally, the program is updated annually based on the latest industry innovations.
Results
After implementing this program, you will see some effects in your business:
- Continuous improvement of workflows involving employees, thereby increasing work efficiency and commitment, working together towards the company's (medium to long-term) purposes and goals.
- Emphasis on quality control during the standardization process to ensure customer expectations are managed and met.
- Workplace safety is properly managed, minimizing the likelihood of accidents. Additionally, potential risks are identified and regularly assessed to continuously improve your professional operations.
- Your laundry provides sustainable textile care services that meet minimum international standards based on current international market assessments. When international standards are too stringent for the current domestic market conditions, an "exemption list" specific to the country is agreed upon. This list is evaluated annually based on possible market improvements. With increasingly strict global environmental legislation, CERCLEAN® ensures compliance with national regulations at all times.
- In addition to international standards, through the annual improvement plan included in the CERCLEAN® program, your laundry will continuously strive to reduce its ecological footprint. Of course, this also reduces operating costs.
- The standardized procedures you develop for your laundry business lead to lower operating costs (less rewash, fewer accidents, proper resource use, and increased productivity through optimal loading ratios, etc.).
- By implementing internationally recognized ISO 9001 and optional RABC / EN 14065 principles, you can provide your customers with more trustworthy services of higher added value. This added value will help salespeople negotiate prices.
- Setting an international standard in your market leads to industry specialization and creates a "barrier to entry" for new players in the laundry market (you can check Porter's theory on Google). In some mature markets, these certifications are included in bidding procedures. Without this certification, laundries cannot participate in bidding.
Start your CERCLEAN® certification today!
The CINET international certification program offers a step-by-step approach. This enables you as a laundry manager to implement the program at your own pace. CINET fully supports companies starting the CERCLEAN® project through two channels: one is CERCLEAN® authorized auditing bodies, and the other is some organizations cooperating with national professional textile care associations or suppliers/consultants in the textile care field.
(Read more on the next page "Distribution Partnerships"). The startup process is easy, just follow these steps;
1. Visit https://www.cinet-online.com/international-certification/ Register your company and basic information so that CINET can provide a matching quote.
2. Within 5 working days, you will receive a complete quote detail, and you can choose how to implement the CERCLEAN® certification program (online learning, on-site workshops, or outsourced consulting services).
3. According to your choice, CINET will send you an invoice.
4. Once payment is received, the login ID will be sent via email. Note! E-learning can be paid online within 24 hours by credit card or other methods.
5. After logging in, the manual module and other e-learning courses will be available. Follow the instructions given in the modules to develop all procedures and forms to complete the manual. Online support can help you complete this. If your laundry has already implemented (some) of these organizational factors, you do not need to fill out forms twice; just refer to your existing documents and processes.
6. After executing the procedures and working methods and completing all questions in the manual, you can request an audit. Based on past experience, CINET estimates the quality management implementation time to be 90 hours and hygiene management time to be 50 hours.
7. To prepare for the audit, the laundry manager will receive a copy of the "Requirement Document" and a checklist to see if everything is in order.
8. The auditor will visit the laundry to check whether the processes, working methods, documents, and manuals comply with all the requirements of the "Requirement Document" (the same document).
9. Deficiencies will be identified and reported by the auditor and sent to CINET headquarters for evaluation by the International Certification Committee.
10. Three months will be given to resolve the deficiencies.
11. The International Certification Committee verifies the corrective/improvement results and signs the CERCLEAN® certificate. If there are too many deficiencies or if the inspection cannot be passed via video/photos, a new audit* must be arranged.
12. The certificate is valid for 3 years. Each year, progress on improvements is discussed with the laundry manager, assistance and feedback are provided. Digital support can be offered to the laundry manager if needed.
*Additional fees will be charged
Do you need formal certification? CERTEX® offers you a solution!
CERCLEAN® is a step-by-step certification program designed to help laundry managers improve their operations pragmatically. If your clients require an internationally formal certification certificate, CERTEX® certification provides the ideal solution. This program is equivalent to the most comprehensive CERCLEAN® certification scheme. CERTEX® has been operating in the Netherlands for 50 years and is also used in many industrial laundries. The program is managed by an independent committee and recognized by the International Certification Committee (TUV NORD, a globally recognized certification organization). This industrial laundry certification scheme is comparable to the PTC dedicated certification systems in Germany, the United States, and other European countries. Compared to some products, a major difference is: CERTEX focuses on the final result of the product, while other products also specify exact procedures that laundries must follow. This naturally leads to higher (unnecessary) costs, while customers are only interested in the final result.
