Sending clothes to laundry or dry cleaning shops usually requires at least two trips. Recently, a citizen shared her experience of "WeChat Laundry" in her WeChat Moments, attracting many likes and envy from friends. It turns out she joined a laundry WeChat platform in the urban area, and when she has clothes to send for cleaning, she just clicks once, and a laundry service staff quickly comes to pick up the clothes. In this consumer live report, the reporter also experienced the convenience of "WeChat Laundry."
Reporter experience:
Clothes picked up half an hour after sending WeChat message
At 14:00 the day before yesterday, the reporter opened WeChat to find the public account "Let Me Do It" (WeChat ID "wolaiwang"). After following it, the reporter clicked "I want to do laundry—Place laundry order" in sequence; then, according to the system's automatic prompts, clicked the "+" on the lower left of the "small keyboard," and on the popped-up page clicked "Send Location" to complete positioning.
Five minutes later, customer service confirmed the reporter's exact location and any special laundry requirements through the platform, left the reporter's contact information, and notified that "the laundry service staff has departed from the nearest logistics dispatch point and will arrive in about 20 minutes barring special circumstances."
About half an hour later, the laundry service staff arrived. He briefly explained the reason for the delay and prepared to collect the clothes. The reporter handed over one suit jacket, one shirt, and one jacket prepared in advance. The collector issued the receipt on site, with a total cost of 68 yuan, similar to prices at offline brand laundry shops. The pick-up and delivery service did not charge an additional service fee.
The next afternoon, the reporter received a system message from "Let Me Do It" confirming the reporter was available to receive the clothes, and the other party still promised the clothes would arrive in about 20 minutes. This time, the laundry service staff arrived on time.
Industry insiders:
Optimistic about the "WeChat Laundry" market
During the clothes cleaning period, the reporter tracked the laundry process through the "self-service inquiry" function of "Let Me Do It," and customer service promptly replied with laundry progress. Additionally, the platform allows viewing laundry prices for various clothing types, membership card balances, promotional product information, and more.
Some consumers worry that WeChat Laundry might look good on the surface but actually use water washing disguised as dry cleaning or mix various clothes together. To address this, the reporter visited the behind-the-scenes laundry factory of "Let Me Do It" and found that clothes sent through the platform are all sent to the central laundry room of Wenzhou Mohaoke Laundry Service Co., Ltd., where professionals sort and wash them.
The platform developer, Let Me Do It Information Technology Company, explained that the company has currently reached a strategic cooperation with Mohaoke. Next year, the platform will gradually introduce other laundry brands, allowing consumers to choose laundry brands independently and supervise service providers to continuously improve service quality through a rating system. Currently, the platform only accepts Mohaoke membership cards or cash payments, with plans to open UnionPay, Alipay, and other payment methods by March next year. The clothing pick-up and delivery range mainly covers the urban area, east to Tangjiaqiao, south to Wenzhou Avenue, west to the bypass road, and north to Wangjiang Road. In the future, the platform will also expand to include repair and daily necessities supply services.
Industry insiders are optimistic about the "WeChat Laundry" market. Pan Zhaoxia, General Manager of Ningbo Zhengzhang, said that under the e-commerce environment, the networking of the service industry is an inevitable trend, especially as young people gradually become the main consumers. They are more accustomed to consuming on the internet and mobile phones, and the future market for WeChat users is huge. Laundry brands in Fujian, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Quzhou, and other places have also expressed interest in the platform.
