On May 16, 2013, the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce collaborated with the China Petroleum and Chemical Network TV to record the program "Life - The Secrets of Dry Cleaning," which introduced the properties and characteristics of laundry solvents, allowing viewers to gain an in-depth understanding of dry cleaning technology through the chemical features of dry cleaning agents. Expert Xu Gendi from the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce appeared as an expert and was interviewed.

This episode explained what tetrachloroethylene is, its role in the chemical industry, the principle of tetrachloroethylene in removing oil stains from clothes and its volatilization distillation method, as well as which clothes must be dry cleaned, which clothes are not suitable for dry cleaning, whether frequent dry cleaning shortens the lifespan of clothes, whether dry cleaning can kill bacteria, and whether dry cleaned clothes will fade.
