The National Advanced Training Course on Laundry and Dyeing Technology Successfully Concluded

On August 20, 2018, the first "National Advanced Training Course on Laundry and Dyeing Technology," jointly organized by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce and Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, was launched at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. As the first professional training jointly held by China's laundry and dyeing industry and professional institutions, the first day received high praise from the students. The full-day intensive training from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. saw full attendance, and the students generally responded that the teachers' course content was "closely aligned with industry practice" and "in-depth."
The opening ceremony began at 8 a.m., with speeches by Pan Wei, Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, and Wang Jianming, Vice President of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. Director Pan pointed out in his speech that this advanced training class, focusing on laundry and dyeing industry technology and skills, held in cooperation with Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, is an exploration of cultivating high-level skilled talents in the industry. He hopes everyone will achieve significant improvement in industry knowledge and skills through this learning. Director Pan emphasized that both knowledge and skills are valuable, urging everyone to cherish this learning opportunity, to live up to the teachers' careful instruction, and to make good use of this rare chance to improve themselves, not wasting their time and financial investment. Vice President Wang said that for this training event, the institute assigned its most experienced teachers who prepared carefully according to the characteristics of the laundry and dyeing industry. Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology has a tradition that students who have studied here are considered "Beifu people," and they are willing to maintain continuous communication and exchange with everyone. At the opening ceremony, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony was also held between the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce and the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology to establish a long-term industry-university-research cooperation relationship, carrying out cooperation in R&D platform construction, technology achievement transformation, innovative talent cultivation, and other forms.
In the morning, Dr. Guan Fanglan, a senior lecturer at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, taught the professional course "Textile and Apparel Fiber Properties and Textiles," enabling students to acquire knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of various textile fibers. This laid a solid foundation for better laundry and dyeing services in the future by combining textile characteristics. After the course, students gave Dr. Guan enthusiastic applause, thanking her for the professional teaching combined with industry practice. 

In the afternoon, under the explanation of Teacher Zhou from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, students visited the Ethnic Costume Museum. The museum houses over 10,000 exquisite traditional ethnic costumes, accessories, fabrics, batik, embroidery, and other items from China's 56 ethnic groups. Among them, the collection of garments from the Qing Dynasty to the early 20th century accounts for half of the total, many of which are first-class masterpieces with extremely high artistic and research value. 
After the visit, Dr. Wang Jianming, Vice Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, taught the course "Textile Dyeing and Finishing Process." As a major course in dyeing and finishing, Dean Wang introduced the characteristics and usage methods of various dyes in a clear and accessible way, guiding students to analyze the causes of color fading and staining in textiles and apparel from the principles of textile dyeing and finishing processes. This helped everyone better master color fixation methods and minimize the risk of garment color fading. In class, students interacted frequently with the teacher, creating a lively atmosphere, even requesting to forgo breaks to learn more practical knowledge with the teacher.
On August 24, the first "National Advanced Training Course on Laundry and Dyeing Technology," jointly organized by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce and Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, successfully concluded! From August 20 to 24, from the first meeting at the start to the final day of completion, whether it was the rich professional courses, intense study discussions, or wonderful visits and observations, everyone benefited greatly. Now let's reveal the specific learning content of the last two days for the students. 
August 23 was the fourth day of training for the National Advanced Training Course on Laundry and Dyeing Technology. In the morning, Dr. Bao Lihong, an associate professor familiar to the students from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, taught "Introduction to Leather Making Process." The entire class was clear in thought, compact in structure, and focused on key points, enabling students to master the main leather-making process flow and the role of each procedure, understand the tanning process of chrome complex tanning agents and several other tanning agents, tanning mechanisms, characteristics of tanning agents binding with collagen, as well as the principles and processes of retanning and dyeing.
In the afternoon, Mr. Jia Runze, a senior lecturer and expert in China's laundry and dyeing industry, taught the professional course "Leather Product Washing, Maintenance, and Case Analysis," enabling students to acquire knowledge of leather product maintenance and washing processes. Mr. Jia taught patiently and skillfully, making learning effortless for students, while vividly helping them experience the connection between theory and practice. 
In the evening, Mr. Jia's course continued. During the session, students engaged in intense discussions on leather care cases, and Professor Bao also joined Mr. Jia to answer students' questions from both theoretical and practical perspectives. 
During the multi-day training, besides the courses taught by teachers, students also studied together the two sets of textbooks "Laundry Worker" and "Leather Care Worker" based on review materials, conducting comprehensive review in preparation for the exams.
On August 24, the training of the National Advanced Training Course on Laundry and Dyeing Technology entered its final day. In the morning, all students took the course exam. Those who passed the assessment would receive the "Industry Skill Certificate" issued by the China General Chamber of Commerce's Commercial Vocational Skill Appraisal Guidance Center and the graduation certificate jointly issued by the China Laundry Committee and Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. In the exam room, candidates were answering questions seriously, some looking down in thought, others writing diligently.
In the afternoon, students visited Beijing Yousa Laundry Equipment Co., Ltd. for an experiential observation. Ms. Xu Gendi, an expert and senior lecturer in China's laundry and dyeing industry, gave an on-site lecture on laundry equipment, washing methods, and solvent characteristics: silicone-based, SENSENE (modified alcohol), hydrocarbon, perchloroethylene, and wet cleaning, and jointly observed and compared the washing effects of the five washing methods. Students also learned about the latest developments in international washing solvents, and experiments were conducted on the characteristics and washing effects of several dry-cleaning solvents (SENSENE, DS, INTENSE, hydrocarbon, perchloroethylene). 



In the afternoon, students visited Beijing Yousa Laundry Equipment Co., Ltd. for an experiential observation. Students also learned about the latest developments in international washing solvents, and experiments were conducted on the characteristics and washing effects of several dry-cleaning solvents (SENSENE, DS, INTENSE, hydrocarbon, perchloroethylene).
Amid enthusiastic applause from the students, the five-day first National Advanced Training Course on Laundry and Dyeing Technology concluded successfully. According to student feedback, the course was packed with valuable content, the schedule was tight, and it was well worth attending. The instructors taught in a clear and accessible manner, greatly benefiting everyone. Meanwhile, students also expressed hope that the China Laundry Committee would organize more similar training sessions in the future to enhance the industry's professional level.
