Recently, the China Consumers Association issued the "Decision on Renewing and Adding Consumer Rights Protection Appraisal Technical Support Units," appointing the China Commercial Federation Laundry Professional Committee (hereinafter referred to as "China Laundry Committee") as an additional consumer rights protection appraisal technical support unit for the China Consumers Association. On June 4, 2018, Director Pan Wei of the China Laundry Committee received the appointment certificate, symbolizing professional advantage and social responsibility, from Director Zhang Dezhi of the Complaint Department of the China Consumers Association. 
Since the establishment of the Laundry Quality Appraisal Office by the China Laundry Committee on March 19, 2013, which carries out laundry service quality appraisal and consultation work, it has provided laundry service quality appraisal services to most regions in China lacking local appraisal institutions, helping operators and consumers effectively mediate conflicts and disputes. Given the China Laundry Committee's long-term acceptance of commissions from consumer associations, courts, and industry and commerce departments nationwide, and its good reputation among various third-party institutions, laundry operators, and consumers, the China Consumers Association has included the China Laundry Committee as a consumer rights protection appraisal technical support unit.
According to Article 37 of the "Consumer Rights Protection Law of the People's Republic of China," consumer associations have the public welfare responsibility to "entrust qualified appraisers to appraise complaints involving product and service quality issues, and the appraisers shall inform the appraisal opinions." This time, the China Laundry Committee has been appointed as an appraisal institution and technical support unit for consumer rights protection appraisal by the China Consumers Association. It will be able to directly accept appraisal commissions from deputy provincial-level and (including) consumer associations (committees). Director Pan Wei said that becoming a consumer rights protection appraisal unit of the China Consumers Association is an honor, but more importantly, a responsibility. The Laundry Quality Appraisal Office of the China Laundry Committee will continue to dedicate itself to quality appraisal and consultation work in regions without local appraisal institutions, and will cooperate closely with our local quality appraisal branches to better serve consumers.
