1. Neglecting buttons and zippers
When washing clothes, if the buttons are not undone, the agitation and pulling forces of the washing machine can easily cause the buttons to fall off. Therefore, clothes with buttons should have the buttons undone; additionally, clothes with zippers should have the zippers closed to prevent deformation from pulling.

2. Using too much laundry detergent
Using too much laundry detergent produces excessive foam, which can easily remain on the collar of shirts, making the clothes dirtier instead.

3. Machine washing these types of clothes
Swimsuits, racing suits, and other spandex elastic fiber clothes should never be washed in a washing machine. The correct method is to hand wash them with cold water.

4. Washing too many clothes at once
You might add too many clothes to the washing machine at once to save electricity, but this can shorten the washing machine's lifespan and is counterproductive.

5. Using expensive laundry detergent or liquid
We often like to buy expensive laundry liquids or powders with exaggerated claims of functionality. In fact, these detergents are less cost-effective and less clean than homemade detergents. Mixing lemon juice and baking soda and soaking clothes in the mixture for half an hour before washing results in softer and more fragrant clothes.

6. Neglecting the cleanliness of the gasket
In many cases, residual detergent may be left on the gasket, so you should pay special attention. Do not close the washing machine immediately after washing so it can dry, and at least once a year, clean it with hot water and vinegar.
