Recently, it has been found in the market that the solvent oil in tetrachloroethylene dry cleaning machines of some laundries and laundry factories has become acidic, with a pH value reaching about 5, causing premature corrosion of dry cleaning machine components.
1. Why does the solvent in tetrachloroethylene dry cleaning machines become acidic?
1. The main reason is the purchasing channel has problems , encountering inferior brands of tetrachloroethylene during the purchase process.
2. Secondly, tetrachloroethylene solvent oil is improperly stored , and the solvent oil may decompose due to exposure to light, heat, moisture, metals, etc., causing increased acidity.
3. Some brands of tetrachloroethylene dry cleaning machines have design defects , lacking necessary protective devices.
4. Poor equipment maintenance , which can cause local overheating inside the machine body, leading to solvent decomposition and acidification.
2. What are the harms to dry cleaning machines and clothing?
Acidification of tetrachloroethylene can severely corrode the dry cleaning machine's oil-water separator, distillation condenser, solvent pipelines, and even corrode the solvent tank and distillation tank, affecting the overall service life of the dry cleaning machine. 。
Acidification of tetrachloroethylene can also damage fabric fibers, causing clothes to lose their original luster after washing, and easily lead to serious color transfer or fading issues. 。
3. How to prevent acidification of tetrachloroethylene dry cleaning machines?
1. Always purchase genuine tetrachloroethylene solvent from official channels. .
2. If using a steam-type tetrachloroethylene dry cleaning machine, the steam pressure should preferably not exceed 4KG pressure. 。
3. Regularly clean the oil-water separator , and test the pH value of the water in the tetrachloroethylene in the oil-water separator monthly. If the pH is below 7, some neutralizer should be added or the tetrachloroethylene solvent in the dry cleaning machine should be completely replaced.
