Bathed in the gentle spring breeze, the inaugural China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Summit Forum and the founding conference of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce were successfully held from March 31 to April 1, 2005, at the Media Conference Center in Beijing. Representatives from national laundry and dyeing and washing equipment and related product manufacturing and sales enterprises, local associations, hospitals and military personnel engaged in laundry and dyeing-related work, local laundry and dyeing industry authorities, as well as representatives from brother industry associations cooperating with the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee all attended the meeting. Meanwhile, news media such as CCTV and China Business News also attended and showed enthusiastic attention to China's laundry and dyeing industry.
Leaders from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Association Management Office, the Service Department of the Reform and Development Division of the Ministry of Commerce, the China General Chamber of Commerce, and related departments attended and spoke at the conference. The conference passed the membership charter of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce; elected the first executive directors and directors; and appointed members of the committee's leadership team. Representatives from all sides also delivered enthusiastic speeches at the meeting. Relevant domestic and international associations and enterprises sent congratulatory messages on the establishment of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee. Attendees of the founding conference took a group photo at the China Millennium Monument, capturing this historic moment with cameras.
After China joined the WTO, facing the imminent full opening of the commercial service industry, how will the laundry and dyeing industry develop; facing the laundry equipment, technology, and management models of developed countries, where are our gaps; how will Chinese laundry and dyeing enterprises respond, and what do laundry and dyeing entrepreneurs need to do; how will China's macroeconomic policies affect the development of the laundry and dyeing industry, and so on, were the main topics of the inaugural China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Summit Forum.
This summit forum featured experts on China's economic system reform analyzing the country's macroeconomic situation; scholars from universities explaining talent incentives and enterprise competitiveness; well-known figures in the domestic laundry and dyeing industry actively discussing and exploring laundry and dyeing technology, machinery and equipment, business models, and environmental protection; and invited Italian laundry and dyeing industry experts to introduce the current status and development trends of European and American laundry and dyeing enterprises.
Through the forum, attendees gained a rational understanding of today's advanced laundry and dyeing technologies and machinery, and enhanced their perceptual understanding by visiting high-tech laundry production lines. A series of activities at the summit allowed representatives to see the rapid development of the laundry and dyeing industry today and envision its bright future. The networking reception arranged by the conference also provided representatives with opportunities for close contact in a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere, laying a good foundation for future cooperation and joint development.
Participants unanimously felt that this was the highest-level forum in the history of China's laundry and dyeing industry, a gathering to broaden horizons, increase knowledge, expand exchanges, learn from each other, and strengthen cooperation, marking an important milestone in the development process of China's laundry and dyeing industry. Many representatives expressed after the meeting that this conference enhanced the overall cohesion of the laundry and dyeing industry, which now has its own common home—the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee—and actively applied to join the committee, willing to contribute to building their own industry association.
In the work report, Committee Director Wang Shuyuan also stated, "The Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee will earnestly implement the important thought of the 'Three Represents,' establish the concept of 'scientific development' and build a 'harmonious society.' Serving the industry and liaising with the government is our fundamental purpose; actively advocating the industry development concept of 'scientific, green, healthy washing, and honest service'; 'technological innovation, brand creation, and environmental optimization' are our work goals; following the path of self-reliance, independence, self-sufficiency, self-strengthening, unity, cooperation, and development is our work policy."
We have reason to believe that, with the joint efforts of peers in the national laundry and dyeing industry, China's laundry and dyeing industry will have a bright future.
