At 2:28 PM on May 12, since the occurrence of the magnitude 7.8 strong earthquake in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, Wang Shuyuan, Director of the Dyeing and Washing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General, and leaders such as Shu Qi and Wang Houzeng, Executive Deputy Directors, donated to the disaster area. They also specially called Hu Wenjun, President of the Sichuan Province Dyeing and Washing Industry Association, and Luo Yi, President of the Chongqing Dyeing and Washing Industry Association, to inquire about the damage situation of dyeing and washing practitioners, enterprises, and organizations in the disaster area. They expressed condolences and comfort to colleagues and their families who died in this earthquake disaster, and extended heartfelt sympathy and respect to the employees who still persist on the front line of production on behalf of all dyeing and washing personnel.
It is hoped that the industry association organizations in the disaster area will give full play to their roles and strengthen contact and communication with the Dyeing and Washing Professional Committee. Believing that in front of the calm, confident, and courageous dyeing and washing people, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the broad masses of the military and civilians united as one, with concerted efforts, will surely overcome this major earthquake disaster.
