Sichuan Earthquake Disaster Moves the Nation
On May 12, a strong earthquake struck Sichuan, China, drawing high attention from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council immediately went to the scene to command the rescue efforts. Rescue teams composed of the People's Liberation Army, Armed Police, People's Police, and related departments and units took the lead, winning precious time to save the injured. Across the country, overseas Chinese, and international friends all extended helping hands by donating money and materials. United in determination, we overcame the difficulties together. The scene was shocking and deeply moving. We wish the people in the disaster area an early return to peaceful life and a swift reconstruction of their beautiful homes! When one place is in trouble, help comes from all directions. Offering love and support to the disaster area is the duty and responsibility of every citizen. Some members of the Hebei Province Laundry Industry Association have expressed their care in various ways. The first batch of donations, totaling 9,500 yuan, has been transferred to the disaster area through relevant channels by the Hebei Provincial Federation of Industrial Economics.
