At 2:28 p.m. on May 12, a strong earthquake of magnitude 8.0 occurred in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province. On the 14th, the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce specially called the laundry and dyeing industry associations of Sichuan and Chongqing to inquire about the damage situation of employees, enterprises, and organizations in the disaster area, expressed condolences and sympathy to colleagues and families who died in this earthquake disaster, and extended heartfelt condolences and respect to employees who still persist on the production front line. We believe that in front of the calm, confident, and courageous laundry and dyeing people, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the broad masses of the military and civilians united as one and worked together, and will surely overcome this major earthquake disaster.
As of May 26, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee has successively received reports from some provincial, municipal, and regional industry associations and enterprises on spontaneous initiatives, donations, blood donations, and other situations organized in the earthquake relief work. Some of these cases are particularly precious and deeply moving, fully reflecting the laundry and dyeing industry's united efforts and spirit of helping those in difficulty. To better and comprehensively showcase the entire laundry and dyeing industry's involvement in earthquake relief and to establish the overall image of the laundry and dyeing industry in society, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee now issues a "Notice on Strengthening Industry Disaster Relief Information Communication in Earthquake Relief Work" to the entire industry, hoping for active cooperation from all industry associations and enterprises.
1. Immediately establish a communication mechanism and do a good job in summary reporting
1. Leaders of each association and enterprise should attach great importance and designate special personnel responsible for collecting, organizing, and transmitting information;
2. Make full use of modern network means, exchange contact methods, establish hotline contact with the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, and maintain timely and effective mutual information reporting.
2. Strengthen positive public opinion guidance and promote the industry's spirit of philanthropy
1. Public media publicity must adhere to the main theme of "earthquake relief, united as one, overcoming difficulties, rebuilding homes";
2. Situation reports must be responsible, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of the reported content;
3. Pay attention to the industry, especially the exemplary role played by some enterprises in times of crisis, demonstrating to the world through vivid examples the corporate character and humanistic brilliance of laundry and dyeing people who "serve the country through industry."
3. Focus on promoting industry groups and highlighting typical disaster relief cases
1. While reporting on the whole society's earthquake relief efforts, pay attention to promoting the heroic disaster relief map of the entire laundry and dyeing industry from the industry's perspective;
2. In promoting the entire laundry and dyeing industry's earthquake relief and home rebuilding activities, pay attention to the publicity and exemplary role of typical cases, typical units, and typical individuals;
3. While focusing on typical cases for publicity, pay attention to analyzing the relationship between commonality and individuality through phenomena, and by amplification, enable key factors to be perpetuated in future enterprise development.
4. Draw on the spirit of unity and promote industry progress and development
1. With the continuous advancement of earthquake relief and home rebuilding work, it is important to conduct phased summaries and organically combine the current spirit of "earthquake relief, united as one" with the long-term tasks of enterprise and industry development;
2. Connect the concept of "great love after a great disaster" closely with enterprise development goals and corporate culture construction;
3. Develop the awareness and ability to turn a major disaster into a positive factor by being vigilant in times of peace, planning, and establishing one's own emergency mechanisms and contingency plans.
5. Information communication requirements
Information communication must be accurate, timely, and complete, with positive and uplifting content; manuscripts should mainly be text and images, preferably in electronic form; the Laundry and Dyeing Committee will promptly display and publicize the disaster relief situation of associations and enterprises on the China Laundry website and journals to the industry and society; for particularly typical deeds, our committee will also report to relevant national departments.
