On November 7th, the first China-made laundry conveyor system for export overseas, developed by Shanghai Weishi Machinery Co., Ltd., was completed and will be shipped to Jeju Island, South Korea on the 8th. This marks the first time a China-developed laundry conveyor has entered a developed country market, achieving a breakthrough in laundry conveyor export business. In the morning, Shanghai Weishi held a grand unveiling ceremony at its laundry conveyor production base in Changzhou, attended by more than 40 representatives from industry associations, guests, and suppliers.
It is understood that the 50-kilogram 13-compartment laundry conveyor customized for the Jeju Island customer is currently Weishi's main model. The inner drum is manufactured using a tailor-made large CNC welding platform. The laundry conveyor's tilt angle design has been specially engineered, with mechanical force and washing cleanliness reaching world-leading levels. The main motor is imported and controlled, and key components such as seals and tension wheels are all original imports. The system program is independently developed and designed.
In September 2015, Shanghai Weishi won the bid with professional design and manufacturing capabilities and excellent system integration solutions, beating five established European and American laundry conveyor manufacturers. The system exported to South Korea also includes a complete hanging bag automatic weighing and conveying system, as well as a central integrated control system. Previously, large foreign linen washing factories preferred to use second-hand European and American brand laundry conveyors rather than domestic brands, mainly due to doubts about the reliability and stability of domestic brands. Before signing the contract, the South Korean customer visited Weishi's factory and clients multiple times for research, ultimately gaining confidence and highly praising Weishi's laundry conveyors.
In 2010, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China established a key project under the National Science and Technology Support Program titled "Research and Development of Tunnel-type Continuous Large-scale Washing Machines" to promote the upgrading of washing and sewing machinery products, effectively improve the overall level of China's washing and sewing equipment industry, and promote energy saving and emission reduction in the washing and sewing industries. Shanghai Weishi was awarded the main undertaking qualification for this project with the highest score. After more than five years of dedicated research, the project was successfully industrialized, and Weishi conveyors were successively established in Ningbo, Jilin, Kunming, Wuhan, Guangdong, Beijing, Hangzhou, Changsha, Hainan, and other places. In 2015, Weishi conveyors appeared at the US CLEAN exhibition, starting the journey of expanding overseas markets. It is reported that Weishi has signed contracts with US customers, and the second laundry conveyor for export overseas has also been put into production. To date, the total number of Weishi conveyors delivered and about to be delivered has exceeded 35. Among them, Weishi laundry conveyors rank first in market share in the Guangdong region.
The first independently developed laundry conveyor from China (Weishi) exported to South Korea marks that China's high-end automated washing equipment industry has entered a higher stage of development, leaving a significant mark in the history of China's washing equipment industry development.
