Symposium on the Declaration of New Occupations in the Commercial Industry Held in Beijing

The former Ministry of Labor and Social Security's "2008 Key Points for Occupational Skill Appraisal Work" clearly stated "to do a good job in the development of new occupations and occupational standards. Adjust and improve the new occupation application and review platform, and release 30 to 40 new occupation information to the public in batches." To actively promote the development of new occupations in the commercial industry, standardize the occupational skill appraisal work in the commercial industry, and steadily advance the construction of the national occupational qualification certificate system in the commercial industry, on April 15, 2008, the Commercial Occupational Skill Appraisal Guidance Center of the China General Chamber of Commerce held a symposium on the application of new occupations in the commercial industry in Beijing. Relevant leaders and representatives from the Training Department of the China General Chamber of Commerce, the Laundry Professional Committee, the Bathing Professional Committee, the China Portrait Photography Society, and the Cleaning Service Professional Committee of the China Commercial Enterprise Management Association attended the symposium.
The meeting was chaired by Liu Yong, Deputy Director of the Commercial Occupational Skill Appraisal Guidance Center of the China General Chamber of Commerce. At the symposium, the national occupational qualification certificate system and the development of occupational skill appraisal work in the commercial industry were introduced, the process of new occupation application was explained, and the application work for new occupations in the commercial industry was discussed.
The attendees unanimously agreed that the symposium was timely and would play a positive role in promoting the development of occupational skills and occupational skill appraisal work in the commercial industry. They also hoped that the Commercial Occupational Skill Appraisal Guidance Center of the China General Chamber of Commerce would leverage the unique advantages of the industry occupational skill appraisal center to assist various departments, branches, and managed associations of the chamber in applying for new occupations in the commercial industry, in order to meet the rapid development needs of the commercial service sector.
