The competition venue was lively and bustling. The contest events were arranged in a well-organized and staggered manner, creating a tense, enthusiastic, yet orderly atmosphere. Contestants demonstrated their skills like the "Eight Immortals crossing the sea, each showing their own abilities." At the front desk garment receiving skills competition, contestants warmly greeted and smiled while carefully checking and recording garments; at the stain removal skills competition, contestants carefully examined and compared stains, magically restoring fabrics to pristine white; at the garment ironing skills competition, wrinkled clothes flew under the contestants' hands, and with smooth iron strokes, crisp garments appeared before the audience; at the mending skills competition, contestants seemed like celestial weavers, using needle and thread to seamlessly repair holes as if naturally intact; at the leather garment care skills competition, the leather was treated like a phoenix reborn from fire, shining as new under the contestants' care; at the garment dyeing skills competition, as wisps of mist gently dispersed, plain fabrics transformed into colorful ribbons like golden dragons dancing on ropes.
The final four-event all-around skills competition brought the entire contest to a climax. On site, contestants appeared both nervous and orderly: front desk garment receiving was meticulous, stain removal was handled skillfully, leather garment care made materials indistinguishable, and garment ironing flowed smoothly. The competition hall resembled a complete grand performance, with one act following another, each brilliant, attracting a crowd of spectators who lingered unwilling to leave.
Compared with previous editions, this National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition had three outstanding features: First, the competition was included by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security as a national second-class competition, elevating its status and social influence. From this edition onward, the top three winners in the national finals will be awarded the title of "National Technical Expert" by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, the highest honor for national labor technicians. Second, the number of contest events increased from 4 in previous editions to 7 this time, providing contestants with more opportunities to compete and showcase their skills. The competition events and levels reflect the technical standards of China's laundry and dyeing industry serving society, create opportunities for enterprises to improve products, technology, and services, provide a stage for outstanding technical talents, and open doors for practitioners to learn and exchange. Third, the participation awareness of local industry associations and enterprises greatly increased, making the competition unprecedented in scale. This vocational skills competition included regional preliminaries and national finals, with 470 participants from 24 regions in the preliminaries. Today, 13 teams with 124 contestants attended the national finals, demonstrating the achievements of association work in guiding laundry and dyeing practitioners to diligently study technology, develop skills on the job, showcase vocational skills and spirit, and promote industry development.
