Development History and Current Status of the European Textile Washing and Rental Industry
Speaker: Albert

Albert Goudkuil is the General Manager of Machinefabriek Goudkuil, the world's largest second-hand laundry equipment company based in the Netherlands. Initially, Goudkuil only provided mechanical repair services for laundry factories in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Gradually, during World War II, Goudkuil began manufacturing new laundry equipment. However, due to the difficult times and scarcity of materials, people started focusing more on buying second-hand equipment and then refurbishing it. In the 1950s, Goudkuil began selling refurbished equipment in the Netherlands and expanded their export market in the 1960s. Today, Machinefabriek Goudkuil is a global leader with over 100 years of history in laundry equipment recycling and remanufacturing.
Many professional laundries worldwide use laundry equipment and automated laundry production lines refurbished by Goudkuil. Over its more than 100 years of development, the company has experienced and participated in the transformation of the European textile washing and rental industry from initial workshop-style production and management to today's modern production methods.
