2010 Key Points of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee Work

At the end of 2009, the China General Chamber of Commerce issued the "Notice on Printing and Distributing the 2010 Work Points of the China General Chamber of Commerce Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee" under document number "China General Chamber of Commerce Laundry and Dyeing Committee [2009] No. 6".
The "Notice" pointed out that in 2009, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce established the "First China International Laundry and Dyeing Festival" with the purpose of "unity, cooperation, and development," which was a complete success. The festival reflected a good trend of enterprise development and popularity gathering, laying a solid foundation for further work in 2010. The "Notice" also required all member units of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee, local laundry and dyeing industry associations, related enterprises, and social organizations to attach great importance and actively cooperate to earnestly carry out various tasks in 2010.
The "Notice" made the following arrangements for the main work of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee in 2010:
1. Successfully organize large-scale events centered on the "China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition."
Achieve the goal of creating an independent brand exhibition for China's laundry and dyeing industry. The "2010 (11th) China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition" is planned to be held from August 26 to 28, 2010, at the Shanghai World Trade Mall Exhibition Hall. Riding the momentum of the Shanghai World Expo, efforts will be made to raise the exhibition to a higher starting point based on the successful experiences of the previous ten exhibitions. Plan related activities during the exhibition to highlight the characteristics of China's laundry and dyeing industry.
2. Establish the National Laundry and Dyeing Standardization Technical Committee to effectively promote the construction of the laundry and dyeing industry standard system.
(1) Cooperate with the Ministry of Commerce to establish the National Laundry and Dyeing Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Laundry and Dyeing Standard Committee") and perform the secretariat work of the committee. Implement organizational and regulatory system construction, and convene the founding meeting of the Laundry and Dyeing Standard Committee in due course; at the same time, assist and guide the Guangdong Standardization Association and Guangdong Laundry and Dyeing Association in undertaking the secretariat work of the "National Laundry and Dyeing Standardization Technical Committee Laundry Service Sub-Technical Committee."
(2) Continue the formulation of industry standards for "Laundry and Dyeing Service Quality Requirements" and "Laundry and Dyeing Service Operation Specifications" projects approved in 2009, and strive for their release and implementation in 2010; the "Basic Terms of Laundry and Dyeing Services," "Methods for Resolving Laundry Service Consumer Disputes," and "Laundry Service Contract Clause Specifications" have been approved by the Ministry of Commerce and will be followed up to promote early completion.
(3) Organize the formulation of the national occupational qualification standard for "Leather Care Workers" and prepare for the next steps of compiling teaching materials, establishing an assessment question bank, and conducting training and evaluation.
(4) Begin revising the national assessment question bank for "Laundry Workers."
3. Establish a national laundry and dyeing industry information system to create an information platform shared by the entire industry.
(1) Build the "China Laundry" website into a comprehensive information website for China's laundry and dyeing industry. Through interactive communication on the website information platform, gradually realize online surveys, data aggregation and analysis, release relevant policies and laws and regulations; carry out online training and exchange activities; disseminate professional knowledge and good consumer concepts to reduce laundry disputes; achieve online office and online verification, improving work efficiency while reducing costs. Following the principles of cooperative development, resource sharing, and non-profit operation, gradually build the website into a safe, reliable, well-expandable, open, and authoritative national laundry and dyeing industry management information system to promote the informatization of China's laundry and dyeing industry.
(2) Continuously improve the publication quality of the "China Laundry" journal. Seek various cooperation methods to gradually expand the journal's information content and circulation, and convert it to a bimonthly publication when conditions mature. Aim to become a major industry publication integrating information carrier, technical consulting, and industry communication functions.
4. Increase training efforts, promote certified employment, and improve practitioners' quality.
(1) Widely carry out training for various industry positions. Issue national occupational qualification certificates and industry practice position certificates to those who pass the training and examination; based on the existing training programs for laundry technicians, senior technicians, laundry industry professional managers, leather professional managers, and shoemakers, pilot training for positions such as "Laundry Equipment Maintenance Technician" will be conducted.
(2) Hold themed professional technical training. According to demand, cooperate with local associations or capable enterprises to hold 1-2 sessions of clearly targeted technical training (guidance) to improve practitioners' professional skills.
(3) Continue to select and send key enterprise personnel and outstanding employees to Japan for technical study.
(4) Conduct training for laundry and dyeing industry instructors, referees, and evaluators according to industry needs.
(5) Carry out the compilation, publication, and distribution of textbooks and materials such as "Laundry Worker." The new version of the "Laundry Worker National Occupational Textbook" based on the national occupational standard is nearing completion, aiming for publication in the first half of 2010.
5. Give full play to the association's functions to provide professional and high-quality services to members and the industry.
(1) Strengthen member development and service management. Vigorously develop new members who meet the conditions, clean up unqualified members, expand member coverage, and provide members with more benefits through comprehensive service work.
(2) Fully play the role of bridge and platform. First, strengthen communication with enterprises, local associations, and relevant government departments to exchange information, mediate conflicts, and promote harmonious and healthy industry development; second, build platforms and create brands to provide enterprises with more opportunities to showcase themselves.
(3) Conduct industry surveys and strengthen management of related evaluation work. First, continue to standardize the evaluation work for the "Top Ten Laundry Enterprises Nationwide" activity; second, combine investigation and evaluation to release the 2009 "National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Well-Known Brands" information.
(4) Explore ways to leverage the overall strength of the industry to hold meetings. First, rely on the director units and key enterprises to hold meetings; second, rely on local associations to hold meetings; third, make full use of expert teams to hold meetings.
The "Notice" concluded that in 2010, the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce will jointly undertake the important task of revitalizing the national laundry and dyeing industry with enterprises and associations across the country. We have the responsibility to spare no effort to protect and build our industry's product brands, service brands, and event brands. We believe that as long as the entire industry unites and works together, our goals will surely be achieved.
This "Notice" was simultaneously copied to the Ministry of Commerce and other relevant national departments.
