On the morning of June 26, the first "Sea Lion Cup" Skills Competition of Hangzhou's laundry industry grandly opened at Hangzhou Kaiyuan Zhijiang Cleaning Chain Co., Ltd. The first provincial laundry industry networking conference held that afternoon in Hangzhou was also a great success. Both events were successfully concluded.
This skills competition attracted 29 laundry experts from Hangzhou to participate. After fierce competition, Chu Lingzhen from Hangzhou Metropolitan Laundry Company, Song Xiaohui from Hangzhou Dajia Laundry Company, and Liu Qian from Hangzhou Sanyo Laundry Company won the top three in "Front Desk Garment Receiving"; Zhu Wenwu from Hangzhou Kaiyuan Zhijiang Cleaning Company, Zhou Wenwei from Hangzhou Sanyo Laundry Company, and Yang Shuyu from Hangzhou Kaiyuan Zhijiang Cleaning Company won the top three in "Stain Removal"; Lan Aishi from Hangzhou Metropolitan Laundry Company, Chen Xinlin from Hangzhou Jiexiang Laundry Company, and Wang Xiuxiu from Hangzhou Kanghua Laundry Company won the top three in "Clothing Ironing"; Xu Ligang from Hangzhou Kaiyuan Zhijiang Cleaning Company and Qiu Tong from Hangzhou Bole Leather Care Center won the top two in "Leather Cleaning." Hangzhou Kaiyuan Zhijiang Cleaning Company and Hangzhou Metropolitan Laundry Company were awarded the "Organization Award."
That afternoon, 65 representatives from laundry enterprises across the province attended the first provincial laundry industry networking conference. The conference issued an appeal to colleagues in the provincial laundry industry focusing on honest service, building industry brands, improving service quality, enhancing satisfaction, establishing modern concepts, creating advanced culture, implementing scientific management, fostering harmonious labor relations, strengthening communication, and mutual improvement. The attendees had lively discussions on the opportunities and challenges of the laundry industry and the establishment of a provincial laundry industry association. Representatives generally agreed that with the development of the economy and society and the improvement of people's living standards, the laundry industry has a promising future. However, the industry currently lacks sufficient social recognition, has incomplete standards, and some enterprises operate irregularly, which to some extent restricts the industry's development. They hope that the industry and especially governments at all levels will pay attention to and support the laundry industry with policies to promote its sound and rapid development across the province. The attendees noted that most provinces and cities nationwide have established provincial laundry industry associations. As a developed province, Zhejiang should establish such an organization earlier to facilitate industry communication, resource integration, self-discipline, standardized operations, and common development. Considering both current realities and future trends, establishing a provincial laundry industry association is very necessary, and they hope to set up this organization as soon as possible.
Relevant departments of the provincial and municipal governments and the Laundry Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce paid great attention to these two events. Wang Houzeng, Executive Deputy Director of the Laundry Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, and Liu Yunli, Office Director, guided the skills competition on-site and presented awards to the winners.
