To leverage the special position of the laundry and dyeing industry as a traditional livelihood industry in China's commercial service sector, as well as its important role in prospering the market, serving the public, absorbing employment, and promoting urbanization, the Ministry of Commerce's Department of Trade Service Management recently invited national industry associations such as the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee to discuss how to accelerate the planning and development of the commercial service industry. The Ministry officially commissioned our association to propose the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry." Once completed and approved, these "Guiding Opinions" will be issued by the Ministry of Commerce to the commercial authorities of all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, cities specifically designated in the state plan, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps for supervision and implementation.
It is reported that the Laundry and Dyeing Committee intends to propose the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry" with the focus on achieving the transformation of the laundry and dyeing industry into a modern service industry. In the near term, according to the overall requirements of the national economic development plan and combined with the actual development of the laundry and dyeing industry itself, the focus will be on structural adjustment and industrial upgrading, promoting independent innovation, technological transformation, elimination of backward capacity, and optimization of layout. This aims to consolidate and strengthen the endogenous driving force of the laundry and dyeing industry for its own development and public service, promote the sustainable, healthy, and orderly operation of the industry, and contribute to economic development and convenient public services.
In this work, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee will coordinate and consider it together with the special research report on the sub-topic "Research on the Development Strategy of China's Laundry and Dyeing Industry" under the 2010 Ministry of Commerce ministerial project "Research on Constructing a New Pattern of Service Industry Development Oriented to People's Livelihood," as well as the development plan outline for China's laundry and dyeing industry to be proposed at the second member representative conference of the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee to be held in August this year.
