The Laundry and Dyeing Committee Conducts a Survey on Occupational Classification

Recently, commissioned by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Professional Committee of Laundry and Dyeing of the China General Chamber of Commerce conducted a survey on the occupational classification in China's laundry and dyeing industry. According to relevant notification requirements, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee selected representative laundry and dyeing enterprises nationwide, including Beijing Funait Laundry Service Co., Ltd., Beijing Rongchang Technology Service Co., Ltd., Beijing Shoulv Plande Laundry Co., Ltd., Beijing Hanhwang Weiye Leather Cleaning and Maintenance Chain Service Co., Ltd., Hengtai Garment Laundry Science and Technology Research Institute, Shanghai Elephant King Laundry Management Co., Ltd., Shanghai Zhengzhang Laundry and Dyeing Company, Guangdong Tiantian Laundry and Dyeing Chain Co., Ltd., to carry out targeted occupational (work type) surveys. At the same time, discussions were held with some industry experts on the occupational (work type) classification of the laundry and dyeing industry, ultimately forming objective survey results that conform to industry characteristics and submitting them to relevant national departments.
The construction of the occupational classification system is an important foundational work for national human resource management. According to the "Labor Law of the People's Republic of China," in 1999, the former Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, and the National Bureau of Statistics, together with relevant departments, compiled and issued the "Occupational Classification Dictionary of the People's Republic of China" (hereinafter referred to as the "Dictionary"), which scientifically and normatively classified and categorized social occupations in China for the first time. With the continuous development of the economy and society, scientific and technological progress, and adjustments in industrial structure, the "Dictionary" can no longer fully reflect the development and changes of social occupations or meet the new requirements of human resource management. To accurately grasp the basic situation of occupational classification at the current stage in China and to prepare technically for revising the "Dictionary," the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security decided to conduct a comprehensive survey on the basic situation of relevant occupations (work types) and positions (posts) in typical enterprises and institutions in the industry.
The setting and definition of industry occupations (work types) will directly affect the future social occupational positioning of practitioners in the laundry and dyeing industry. The Laundry and Dyeing Committee's current occupational (work type) classification survey work is of great significance; it is a major matter concerning the development of China's laundry and dyeing industry and has received strong support and cooperation from relevant national departments, related units, and experts across the country.
